Lavenhall occupies five storeys of Portland stone on the north side of Ashbridge Gardens, a short walk from Green Park. The front door opens onto a hall of smoked mirror and mauve velvet; the porter takes your coat, and the evening is arranged from there.
We keep the house deliberately small — forty-one rooms and suites, three salons, two dining rooms and a bar — so that by your second visit nobody needs to ask how you take your drink.

Play Is Kept on the First Floor
Three rooms above the hall, lit low and never hurried: table games in the salon, cards by the fire, and a small stage for the late show.

Twelve tables run the length of the first floor — blackjack, roulette and punto banco — with the dealers in evening dress and the tall windows left uncurtained onto the square.

The Ashbridge Card Room
By arrangement, from 7 pm
A fireside room for poker and private games, arranged through your host: one oval table, eight velvet chairs and a green-shaded lamp. Quiet enough to hear the fire.

The Mirror Room
Thursday to Saturday, from 9 pm
Our cabaret stage behind a wall of smoked glass — jazz trios, torch singers and the occasional sleight-of-hand act, with supper seating from 8 pm.
Entry to every gaming room is strictly 18+. We ask for valid photo ID — passport, driving licence or PASS card — from anyone who appears under 25. Gaming here is an evening’s entertainment, with limits and support always available.

Gaming Should Stay an Evening’s Entertainment
It is never a way to make money, and never a source of worry. The house keeps its own programme of limits, breaks and support, and every member of the salon staff is trained to use it.
Your limits, kept by us
Agree a time or spending limit with your host before you play and the salon will hold you to it. Ask for a cooling-off break of a day, a week or a month, or join the house’s own self-exclusion programme, which closes every gaming room in the building to you for as long as you choose.

The House on Ashbridge Gardens
Lavenhall was a private house for most of its life, and it keeps the manners of one. There is no lobby in the hotel sense — a hall, a porter’s desk, a stone staircase — and every room was designed around the lamp rather than the ceiling light.
Our idea of hospitality is discreet, well informed and a little theatrical after dark. The acts on this page are only a suggestion; the concierge will happily rearrange the evening around you.
Four minutes’ walk from Green Park. The porter meets taxis at the portico; there is no parking on the square.
